HOTEL POLICIES
THANKS FOR STAYING & ENJOY YOUR STAY
Our Mississippi hotel is the ideal location for your next trip to Brookhaven. Located in the historic downtown business district, The Inn on Whitworth is just minutes away from all areas of Brookhaven’s many businesses and activities. We want your stay at The Inn to be as pleasant and memorable as possible. Please read the following policies carefully, and feel free to contact us for additional information.
Front Door/Security
-
Though Downtown Brookhaven is considered quite safe, we operate with a front door that is always locked and accessed by a keypad and code, privately shared with our guests, due to the fact that we are a small business and do not have someone stationed constantly at the front desk. We do have an Innkeeper available by phone at all times.
Cancellations
-
Reservations can be canceled up to three days before the day of check-in, free of charge. Cancellations occurring after 6 pm, three days before the scheduled arrival day will be charged 100% of the booking total. If you need to cancel or make changes to this reservation, please contact the Inn on Whitworth at 601-990-5097 between 8 am and 7 pm, or email at stay@innonwhitworth.com.
Payment
-
Every reservation requires an operating credit card on file for potential damages, even if you intend to pay with cash. We do happily take cash but need to know your intention in advance of arrival.
-
The credit card on file will be charged for the full amount of your stay in the morning on your arrival day unless other arrangements have been made in advance, such as cash payment at arrival (between 3 & 7 pm only), using a different card or splitting payments between guests. When paying in cash, please round to the nearest dollar and bring exact cash. Checks are not accepted.
-
If your credit card does not go through for any reason, we will attempt to contact you by phone call and by text to request an update to your card. We will not hold your room past 2 pm on your scheduled arrival day if your payment does not go through and if you do not respond to our attempts to contact you.
Prerogative to Change Rooms
-
We reserve the option to switch your reservation to a comparable or upgraded room in order to accommodate guests that require a handicapped accessible room, or that have other needs requiring particular rooms. It is our practice to honor your specific requests and preferences if you let us know what they are - we highly value every guest having the most positive experience possible.
Quiet
-
We consider the Inn to be a place of Calm & Quiet at all times of day.
-
Parents, be prepared to require your children to walk in our lobby and hallways, not run, and to be quietly respectful of our subdued flavor and the needs of all of our guests who expect to be in a Calm & Quiet place. If you know your children are not capable of this behavior, we are not a good match for your overnight needs.
-
10 pm begins Quiet Time in the lobby. Please come and go quietly after 10 pm and do not make noise in the lobby, as we have several rooms adjacent to the lobby. Quality sleep and rest for all of our guests is our top priority - we ask that all guests respect the quietness needed by other guests for a good night of sleep. You are invited to call the Innkeeper on duty (the one that sent you a text with codes) to let us know if there is a disturbance that needs to be addressed.
-
Televisions - we ask that you turn your televisions off or on mute if you are not in the room, day or night. At night especially please keep the volume low on your television out of respect for your neighbors.
-
Compensation to your neighbor - If a neighboring guest is not able to sleep because of noise you are making in the lobby or in your room (including your television), we will refund all or part of the sleepless guest’s fee and charge that same amount to your card. If you are accustomed to sleeping with the television sound on all night we are not a good match for your overnight needs. The decision to compensate is solely at the discretion of the Owner and/or Innkeeper.
-
Some guests require daytime sleeping. If you let us know this at the time of making your reservation, we will help you choose an especially quiet room, as well as alert our staff to your needs.
Age Related
-
Guests must be 21 years old to reserve a room at the Inn. A valid photo ID is required at check-in.
-
Three children, 16 years old and under, is the maximum number that can stay with any one adult in a room.
-
Parents, be prepared to require your children to walk in our lobby and hallways, not run, and to be quietly respectful of our subdued flavor and the needs of all of our guests. If you know your children are not capable of this behavior, we may not be a good match for your overnight needs.
-
Children are not allowed to play on the stairs, elevator or ride on the luggage cart and should be supervised in the community areas at all times. Children under 12 should not be sent to have breakfast without parents accompanying them.
Numbers of People in Rooms
-
Most of our rooms are designed for two people. Rooms 2, 3 & 4 have two beds and accommodate two adults and up to two children under 16 years old at no additional charge. Suite B has two bedrooms and accommodates up to four adults with no extra charge.
-
Please let us know anytime you plan to have more than two guests in Rooms 2,3 or 4 so that we may provide extra towels and prepare extra breakfast.
-
$15 per extra guest 16 years old and over, per night, will be added to your credit card.
-
Some of our Suites are large enough to accommodate an extra twin size mattress/bed. $15 will be charged if we add a pop-up bed or air mattress. None of our sofas fold out into sofa-beds but some are full length and could be slept on by a slim person. We are willing to provide extra bedding and towels if we know ahead of time.
-
Gatherings of over 4 people are not allowed in our ground-floor Rooms, and 6 people in our Suites and Lofts. We have a Conference Room to accommodate gatherings. Please see information under Amenities Tab.
Extra Guests for Breakfast
-
If you wish to have an outside Guest join you for breakfast please let us know a day ahead and we are happy to include them. An extra charge of $15 will be added to your reservation.
Damages
-
Olfactory concerns - fragrances linger in rooms after you leave! We consider the smell of smoke as well as strong perfume or cologne to be “damage” to a room.
-
You will be charged for any aspects of your room that are damaged during your stay, including any residue of smoking, personal fragrances or cooking fumes that compromise the air quality and our ability to present a quality and fresh air experience for the next guest. Charges are based on the judgment of the Owner and/or Innkeeper and will include our product costs, labor costs and/or loss of capacity to use the room for other Guests while repair occurs.
Pets
-
Travel dogs are allowed at Storm Lofts but not at the Inn on Whitworth.
-
“Emotional Support Animals” are not allowed at the Inn on Whitworth because of the lack of integrity regarding terminology and lack of standards for licensing.
-
Professional Service Dogs are welcome.
Items Left in Rooms
-
Our housekeepers routinely turn in items left by Guests in rooms. We hold onto these items for a few weeks before donating them to a local thrift store. Please call if you find you have left an item and we will gladly ship it to you and charge the fees to the credit card on file.
Room Blocks for Events
-
If you anticipate needing multiple rooms for guests attending an event, we are happy to put up to 12 Rooms & Suites in the Inn into a Block for you in your name, with no deposit. We retain two Suites for potential Extended Stay reservations. If we do not get Extended Stay reservations you will be given the option on these Suites for your guests if you already have a Block and are on the Wait List for additional rooms.
-
In most cases individuals attending the event will call in and give us their name, along with contact information and credit card information to formally secure the room. The Guest will be sent a confirmation to acknowledge the agreement. We will honor your Block up to three weeks prior to your guests’ arrival day. On that day (three weeks prior to the first day of your scheduled Arrival Date) any rooms without this specific information will be released from the Block and made available to our Wait List or general reservations.
-
The common spaces of the Inn are not available or reservable for Guest events. Please speak to us about the use of our Conference Room if you need a gathering space for a group of people.
Conference Room
-
A credit card is required to reserve the Conference Room. Damages are the responsibility of the Guest and will be charged to the credit card on file. Guests are expected to clean up after themselves after any use of the room, and to leave the room thoroughly tidy.
-
Use of our Conference Room for a meeting of up to 15 people in which no meal or party snacks are served is complementary for our overnight Guests.
-
$300 is charged for any event in the Conference Room that involves a meal or food as part of the event, or for any non-guest booking the room for any purpose. Contact us to discuss the specifics regarding your Event needs.
-
The maximum number of people that our Conference Room accommodates is 60, based on Fire Safety Codes.
