Brookhaven’s Small Business of the Month
The Inn on Whitworth, owners, and staff were honored this morning by the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. A panel of Chamber members and Chamber Ambassadors chose the Inn on Whitworth for the award, and presented us with a plaque in a ceremony in the lobby.
The Inn on Whitworth has been in business for over 2 years now, and, as owner John Lynch mentioned during the ceremony, it takes a community. Success comes not just from the hard work of the owners and staff, but the loyalty of our guests who have written stellar reviews across social media, recommended us to their friends, family, and co-workers, and come back to stay with us time and again. We feel blessed beyond measure, not only for the honor we have received today, but also for ALL those who have helped to make the Inn on Whitworth the best place to stay in Brookhaven.

Suite Additions
The Inn on Whitworth will soon be adding a 2-bedroom suite to our list of upstairs rooms! Suite B is in the staging process now, but should be available by late March. This suite will include a full kitchen and living room area (similar to what can be seen in our current 1-bedroom suites) as well as 2 separate bedrooms and a Jack-n-Jill bath. This will be an ideal retreat for families!
We will also be adding another 1-bedroom suite because of the demand for longer-term stays; this should be ready towards the beginning of April. Be on the lookout for pictures of both new suites coming soon! We are excited about how much the Inn is growing — in large part due to our wonderful guests who continue to spread the word about this downtown Brookhaven gem. Thanks for the support!!
Christmas Open House
The Inn on Whitworth is excited to be taking part in Christmas Open House this year! Though we are not the typical retailer, we wanted to join in with the community to celebrate the open of Brookhaven’s holiday season.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, from 11 – 2pm, we will have refreshments and tours available for all the busy shoppers. As a special treat, Rainer Brothers & Friends will be performing on the front porch!
So, stop by and see your local downtown Inn, take a look at what we have to offer, and see why our guests are raving about their stay with us! It will be a good chance to take a break from the hustle and bustle and relax a minute in the serene setting of the Inn on Whitworth. Sallie, our Innkeeper, will be available to show you some of the rooms and give you a little history of the building.

In the September 2013 issue of Mississippi Magazine, Lisa Lafontaine Bynum wrote an article about 6 Mississippi Inns/B&Bs – we are so excited that the Inn on Whitworth was included in that elite group! This project has had such great support from Brookhavenites from the start, and we are so excited that the word is spreading about this little gem located in downtown Brookhaven, with guests from as far away as Germany, England, and even South Korea! Guest response has been nothing less than enthusiastic as evidenced by the positive reviews on TripAdvisor and Facebook. We can’t thank everyone enough for the recommendations and support. So, we dedicate this new success to the local businesses and people, as well as our wonderful guests, who continue to put the Inn on Whitworth on the map!
